Can funding help pay for coaching?
Yes. California Self-Determination Program participants can fund coaching through their SDP budgets, billed through your Financial Management Service. San Diego families: ask on the free consultation call and we will walk through the plan language and billing together. Phoenix and virtual families currently use private pay.
How does coaching begin?
- Free consultation. One relaxed call about where your teen or young adult is now. Students welcome, together with family or separately.
- A student-authored plan. Goals the young adult chooses, matched to in-person, virtual, or the Modern Motivational Course.
- Weekly coaching. In home and in community across San Diego and Phoenix, or by video, with every plan naming its own fade points.
Service questions, answered plainly.
Which service should we start with?
Families in San Diego and Phoenix usually start with 1:1 in-person coaching; families elsewhere start virtually. Young men working on motivation, identity, and launch often fit the Modern Motivational Course best. The free consultation sorts it out in one call.
What is the difference between in-person and virtual?
The plan and the coach are the same. In-person adds side-by-side practice in the home, the community, and on campus. Virtual focuses on identity, executive function, planning, finances, and task execution, and still includes opportunities for social and community group outings and connections.
Can the Modern Motivational Course be accelerated?
Yes. The course is 25 sessions, typically weekly across 25 weeks, and pacing can be accelerated to fit the client's goals.
Do you work alongside therapists?
Yes, and gladly. Coaching builds skills and systems; therapy treats mental health. We coordinate with a student's care team and never duplicate it.
